Kenya Airways

Kenya Airways is the national carrier of Kenya. Based in Nairobi it started its journey on 4th February 1977 and operates flights throughout Africa, the Middle East, Europe and the Indian subcontinent. The Airline is a member of the Sky Team Alliance and takes pride in being at the forefront of connecting Africa to other parts of the world. Today it is a leading African Airline that offers flights to 42 destinations worldwide, 35 of which are in Africa.

With the main hub at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, the airline is owned by the Government of Kenya until April 1995. It became privatized in 1996 and became the first African Airline to successfully achieve this milestone. The airline offers flights to Mumbai, London, Amsterdam, Sharjah, Guangzhou and over 25 intra-Africa routes in addition to its passenger network.

Baggage Allowance for carry-on baggage

• For passengers traveling in Business Class, they are allowed 2 pieces of carry-on baggage with maximum dimensions of 55 X 25 X 35cm and 1 accessory with a total weight of not more than 18kg
• For passengers traveling in the Economy Class, they are allowed 1 piece of carry-on baggage with maximum dimensions of 55 X 25 X 35 cm and 1 accessory with a total weight of not more than 12 kg

Baggage Allowance for checked-baggage

• If you are traveling from Africa to America/Europe in Business Class, then the allowed Checked baggage limit is 2 pieces of 32 Kg each and in Economy Class, it is 2 pieces of 23 kg each
• If traveling from Africa to the Middle East/Asia then the Business Class passengers can carry 2 pieces of 32 kg and for Economy Class, it is 2 pieces of 23 kg each
• If traveling within Africa Business Class passengers can carry 2 pieces of 32 kg each and for Economy Class, it is pieces of 23 kg each
• For Domestic passengers,in the category of Business Class, can carry 1 piece of 32 kg and Economy Class can carry one piece of 23 kg

Date Change Policy

• The airline provides its passengers great flexibility to make any kind of changes to their previous or current reservations within 24 hours of their scheduled departure. For this, they don’t require to pay any kind of change fee if they make changes to the flight date within 24 hours of flight booking.
• The airline charges $100 to $300 for a flight change which depends on the type of flight ticket and the delay of the date change

Cancellation Policy

Kenya Airways offers a 24-hour flight cancellation policy for flights originating from the US. The passengers will receive the refund within 10 days of submitting the request to the Online Refund Form. If the tickets are purchased at least seven days before a flight’s scheduled departure date and time, then the passengers can cancel their reservation and get a full refund without a 24-hour penalty. Passengers can cancel their flight tickets online through Manage My Bookings. If they had purchased it through the travel agents, then they need to contact them. Fees charged for the booking changes are non-refundable.
